{"id":19598,"date":"2025-04-04T07:00:50","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T11:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.neomaterials.com\/?p=19598"},"modified":"2025-05-20T22:27:44","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T02:27:44","slug":"neo-performance-materials-and-globe-metals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.neomaterials.com\/neo-performance-materials-and-globe-metals\/","title":{"rendered":"Neo Performance Materials and Globe Metals &#038; Mining Sign MOU for Offtake  of Critical Metals from the Kanyika Project\u2019s Phase 1 Production in Malawi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TORONTO, Canada<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; <strong>Neo Performance Materials Inc. <\/strong>(\u201c<strong>Neo<\/strong>\u201d or the &#8220;<strong>Company<\/strong>&#8220;) (<strong>TSX:NEO<\/strong>) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (the \u201c<strong>MOU<\/strong>\u201d) with <strong>Globe Metals &amp; Mining Ltd.<\/strong> (\u201c<strong>Globe<\/strong>\u201d) (<strong>ASX:GBE<\/strong>) for the offtake of up to 150 metric tonnes per year (MTPY) of niobium pentoxide from the Kanyika Niobium Project in Malawi (the \u201c<strong>Kanyika<\/strong> <strong>Project<\/strong>\u201d).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The MOU provides the framework for the parties to negotiate a binding commercial offtake agreement for the supply of niobium pentoxide from Globe&#8217;s Kanyika Project in Malawi.<\/li>\n<li>Under the contemplated offtake agreement, <strong>NPM Silmet O\u00dc <\/strong>(\u201c<strong>Silmet<\/strong>\u201d), Neo\u2019s rare metals production facility in Sillam\u00e4e, Estonia, is expected to purchase 150 MTPY of high-purity niobium pentoxide in Phase 1 of the Kanyika Project, which is targeted to start production in Q1 2027.<\/li>\n<li>Following the fulfillment of the initial purchase amounts, it is anticipated that the offtake agreement will be renewed annually.<\/li>\n<li>Neo also has a limited right of first refusal to purchase other critical metals, such as tantalum and zircon concentrates, produced at the Kanyika Project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Globe&#8217;s CEO, Paul Smith, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Neo MOU represents a watershed moment for the Kanyika Project.
